6 Simple Tips for Successful Email Campaigns

Internet marketers are always sending out email campaigns in the hopes of generating, at minimum, some interest in their products and services and name recognition, and, ideally, some revenue. But with all those emails coming in, how do readers distinguish which have credibility and which do not? Any business owner can use email marketing to increase profits. The key to establishing your credibility with potential readers is to respect their time and intelligence. Don't waste their time with unprofessional looking emails that provide them with no take-away value. Use the following simple tips to create credible and professional email campaigns that deliver results.

1. Create a Personal Touch

While no one wants to hear every detail about your personal life, there are aspects of your life and experiences that you should share in your articles, blogs and campaign letters. The more human you make yourself, the more you will connect with your readers. Sharing your mistakes and how you learned your lessons reassures your readers that they, too, can become an expert.

2. Professional

Use the simple tools available to eliminate spelling and grammar errors. Respect your readers. They are taking their valuable time to read what you have to say, the least you can do is to make sure you respect them enough to create easy-to-read professional articles.

3. Make it Bite-Sized

Your message should be simple and have a point. This allows the message to be read and digested quickly so that your reader doesn't feel as though you've sucked up valuable minutes from their day and wasted their time. Emails that run on and on require a commitment and if you're reader thinks the email is too long they may just delete it or save for later, which also means it likely won't get read.

4. Provide Customer Examples

The ultimate goal is to become a trusted advisor to your reader. In order to do that, you need to provide content that your reader will value. Customers find value in testimonials and case studies as they provide proof that your products or methods deliver.

5. Consistent "From" Address

Using a consistent "From" address helps readers to distinguish between spam and those messages that they are interested in. The messages should also be from a real person as opposed to a company because it shows a little more personalization.

6. Sending Too Many Messages

Think about the frequency of your email campaigns. If you're sending multiple messages a week to the same distribution, it should be because you have something to say that will soon expire. Too many messages destroys your credibility and makes your readers think you are desperate for sales. Establishing a consistent rate of frequency helps your readers know when to anticipate further communication from you.

Any business owner can create successful email campaigns following these simple steps. Using these guidelines, you will create credibility and build a list that will want to read your emails and ultimately lead to profit.
